Flintlock Fowler by Allan Sandy, Jennings, Florida

This exquisite ‘buck and ball’ fowler, crafted in the American style with a strong English influence from the 18th century, boasts remarkable relief carving with silver wire inlay on its maple stock. The brass barrel, a custom creation by Ed Rayl of Gassaway, WV is a 20-gauge octagon-to-round barrel, with Allan Sandy’s name inscribed on a silver plate atop the barrel. The flint lock, with a brass plate, was produced by Chamber Flintlocks, Candler, NC. The hardware is cast from an original English Fowler. This fine traditional style
contemporary flintlock fowler was crafted over twenty years ago for Margie and Gordon Barlow’s collection.

The Barlows have generously donated this outstanding contemporary fowler to the Contemporary Longrifle Foundation Endowment Fund. It is intended for use as an organizational fundraiser, with the heartfelt hope that it will inspire others to make similar contributions to our 501(c)(3) Contemporary Longrifle Foundation, Inc.

Accompanying this offering is a signed copy of Gordon and Margie’s Longrifle Collection Book, which features this fowler on pages 16 and 18.
